Vaccines

Prior to going to Greece, compulsory / recommended vaccinations should be provided, pharmaceuticals used to prevent / cure diseases occurring in the country and to treat health problems that may occur during travel.


Hepatitis A - Vaccination in case of risk of ingestion of contaminated water and / or food

Hepatitis B - Vaccination for the risk of surgical intervention, injection, contact with infected blood, sexual contact

Rabies - Vaccinationin case of risk of bitting by wild animals, eg dogs, cats, foxes

Tips

Offices usually work in hours - 8am to 2pm Monday to Friday (this also applies to banks).

Shops are usually open until. 20.00 or 21.00 (with a break during the day) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays the trade ends in siesta time (around 3 pm).

In most cities and tourist destinations in Greece there are offices of the National Tourist Organization (EOT) www.gnto.gov.gr, www.visitgreece.gr, which provide free tourist information, maps, timetables for trains, buses and ferries.
